Stepping motor drives, frequency converters and servo drives can be operated directly on the SIMATIC S7-1200 via analog outputs, via the integrated pulse train outputs (PTO), or via PROFINET. There is no need for special assemblies. For the drive connection via PROFINET the setpoint values are given from the CPU and the frequency converter sends back the actual value to the CPU. With the flexible communication possibilities, a multitude of motion control applications can be realized.
Integrated technology functions for counting and measuring tasks, regulation and motion control make the Siemens S7-1200 a versatile system that is perfectly suited for numerous automation tasks. Thanks to the integrated PID controllers, you can precisely and efficiently adjust physical variables (such as room temperature) to a specific target value.
